A Salon Story

by Kimberly Pham | June 26, 2009 | Bookmark +
UCLA student Chuck Diep directed, translated and edited this short documentary about a Vietnamese Nail Salon in Northern California for his Asian American Studies class on Creating Community Media last spring.

His Synopsis: "The mention of nail salons often evokes images of acrylic nails and heating lamps, neon signs and nail polish. The Vietnamese salon worker has become a recognized image within the industry. Who are these salon workers and what is their story?"

This is Zhou Chang's story. I would love to hear about your story, from the obstacles you've faced to your successes, as it's through these obstacles that are overcome that help us to appreciate the success.
