I checked out the Vietnamese nail industry’s entertainment scene in Las Vegas after hours during Cosmoprof North America. Viet-My Magazine took advantage of the nail industry being in town to host Bí Mật Của Sắc Đẹp, or Beauty Secrets, a Vietnamese music concert featuring performances by Nguyễn Hồng Nhung, Tuấn Anh, Hoàng Thục Linh, Quốc Khanh, Đan Nguyên, ViệtCam Performing Arts, and many others. The House of Blues at the Mandalay Bay Casino was filled with nail industry professionals, manufacturers, distributors, and Vegas visitors for an evening of singing, dancing, and comedy. The MCs of the event, David Võ and Thùy Dương, helped keep the show rolling.
Husband and wife comedy duo Quang Minh and Hồng Đào catered their comedy sketch to the salon industry. I must admit their humor was delivered too quickly for my Vietnamese-American ears to pick up, but luckily QGS’ Nhat Phan clued me in on the fun. (Thanks, Anh Nhat!)
The Alfalfa Nail Supply team had some of the the best seats in the House. I met up with them at their Cosmoprof booth during the day to talk about some of their new products. Pictured here from left to right are Kevin Nguyen, Angie Lim, Kathy Phan, Hien Ton, and Dat Ton.
Directly after the Beauty Secrets event, I had the chance to talk to some great people:
Nails 2000 was set up in front of the House of Blues promoting some of their brands and products, including their new Glitter Nail Tips as well as their Super Crystal Tips. Pictured above from left to right: Vinh Tran, Jenny Tran, Lani Tran, Nails 2000 president Mai Tran, Philip Vo, Jinny Mai Tram Vo, Christine Mosqueda, and Mariedel Mosqueda.
